AVAILABLE POSITION: Hydraulic Modeler
LOCATION: Miami, FL (Doral)
DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Hydraulic Modeler to conduct hydraulic computations and computer modeling and hydraulic analysis of water, wastewater and/or stormwater systems. This work includes the identification/study of specific system areas of concern, system inefficiencies, and modeling system performance under various scenarios (alternatives).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data collection and analysis, development of database and GIS applications, development and application of hydraulic models
- Support to Planning, design and construction projects
- Hydraulic and water quality modeling
- Develop, update, calibrate, and apply hydraulic network models in analysis of water supply/distribution systems and wastewater collection networks
- Develop, update, calibrate, and apply hydraulic and hydrologic models in analysis of stormwater management systems
- Managing project tasks, project design and permitting, and providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff
- Develop calibrated hydraulic models of existing and new water/wastewater/stormwater infrastructure to simulate system performance under various scenarios
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and external clients to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
- Maintain a high degree of quality in work products along with checking the work of others
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects
- Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives
- Field verification and site visits may be required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in computer hydraulic modeling of utility networks, Civil Engineering, Land Development, linear utility design, municipal lift station design, and utility construction experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience with ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software such as InfoWater, WaterCAD, InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM, HEC RAS is desired.
- Candidates must be self-motivated, highly organized and possess excellent writing and communication skills.
- Understands QA/QC procedures and basic business practices as well as laws related to engineering
